Mission

To imbibe “lab-to-land” culture and conduct high-impact applied research and innovation in bioenergy, collaborating with industries, academia, and communities.
To empower individuals and organizations through capacity building and skill development to lead the clean energy transition.
To support and implement Government of India’s initiatives on clean and Net Zero transition by 2070 by utilizing bioenergy solutions.
To foster effective collaboration with stakeholders to address and solve bioenergy industry and national challenges.
To promote standardization, knowledge transfer, technology development, and commercialization to advance a sustainable circular bioeconomy.

Objectives

To carry out and facilitate research, design, development, testing, standardization and technology demonstration eventually leading to commercialization of R&D output with a focus on:

Bioenergy, biofuels and synthetic fuels in solid, liquid and gaseous forms for transportation, portable and stationary applications
Development of new technologies for effective utilization of different type of wastes and production of value added products
To undertake and facilitate human resource development and training including doctoral and postdoctoral research in the area of bio-energy
To create facilities for operationalization of the Institute
